ππ«§β¨ My Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Experience β¨π«§π
Today I tried Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and wow... what an experience! π€©π
As an autistic woman ππ§©, I am always looking for things that might improve my quality of life and help me cope better with autism, stress, burnout and the demands of everyday life πβ¨.
If there's something that could help me feel calmer, healthier and more regulated in my own body, I'm willing to give it a try π±π¦.
I didn't really know what to expect, but the moment I got inside the chamber, I felt so calm ππ.

I know enclosed spaces can be difficult for some people, but for me it felt completely different. The chamber felt safe π«, quiet π€«, cosy π‘, and strangely familiar. In a way, it felt like home πβ¨.
When you get in, you become aware of the higher oxygen concentration almost immediately, and for me it felt like my body was getting all of the goodness it had needed for years π«§π.
For an hour β° I sat there and relaxed π. I did take a quick photo before settling in πΈπ, but otherwise I put my phone away and switched off from the outside world ππ
It gave me a rare chance to simply exist. No demands. No masking. No pressure. It was incredibly peaceful ποΈπ.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy works by increasing the amount of oxygen available to your body's tissues π«β¨. Benefits people seek it for include:
π Supporting healing and recovery
π Helping reduce inflammation
π Improving circulation
π Supporting energy and wellbeing β‘π±
π Supporting collagen production and skin health β¨π
π Helping the body rest and recover π§ββοΈπ
As someone who has experienced years of autistic stress, anxiety, burnout and overwhelm ππβ‘οΈππ, I found it incredibly restorative.

Years of stress have left me carrying a lot of tension and pain in my body, so I was interested to learn that HBOT is used by some people to support skin health, collagen production and even help with aches and joint pain β¨πΈ.
The biggest thing I noticed, though, was the feeling of calm ποΈπ
My nervous system felt settled π, my mind felt quieter π€«β¨, and I left feeling refreshed ππ. It was like my body could finally take a deep breath and relax ππ«.
Will I do it again? Absolutely! ππβ¨
